Deathgarden Announced

Behaviour Interactive have worked on a very long list of games in their lifetime. Most are licensed shovelware games like Pacific Rim: The Mobile Game and  Spongebob Heropants. But relatively recently they made Dead by Daylight, an asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game.

I bring them up because yesterday Behaviour Interactive have announced their next game, Deathgarden, an asymmetrical multiplayer shooter. Deathgarden is set in the future, where brutal bloodsport is entertainment enjoy by all. The two teams will consist of agile Runners who have to escape and the Hunter who is heavily armored, well armed, and tasked with killing all the Runners.

While this is fairly similar to Dead by Daylight, I am interested to see how the range of the Hunter having a gun will factor into the gameplay. It can be seen that the Runner are also armed with small bows and arrows, meaning that there may be the ability to kill the Hunter before they kill all of the Runners.

“We are proud to finally reveal our next game, DEATHGARDEN.” said David Osborne, VP Product at BHVR Digital. “We embrace the challenge of asymmetrical gameplay and the unique moments it provides, drawing players and viewers into the experience. Playing with your team to overcome an unrelenting threat hell-bent on stopping you isn’t just fun to play, it’s really engaging to watch.”

At the moment, all we have are some screenshots and a thirty second teaser trailer that honestly shows nothing of the game itself, just what it looks like. The teaser does do its job though, it does tease us and gives us a feeling of the game itself. This large, armored Hunter looming over the weak and fragile Runner.

While I did skip over Dead by Daylight for a lack of people who wished to play with me, I am interested by the concepts that surround Deathgarden. I may even play it when it gets released.
