Unravel was an adorable platform puzzler that came out over 2 years ago that drew people in with the cute character Yarny and the gorgeous realistic world they inhabited.
At E3 this year, we got a trailer for Unravel 2. While the game has been out on PC since the 9th, an Xbox One and PS4 version is slated for release, but no date has been announced.
In Unravel 2, you once again take the role of Yarny. In an unfortunate accident, your string snaps, you lose your spark, and you’re whisked away by a gigantic wave. You wash ashore and find another yarn person who also has a broken string. You connect your strings and chase after your spark.
The trailer then shows gameplay as Yarny and their new companion venture through a wide variety of environments as you pursue what you have lost.
You can play the game solo or you can play with a friend. If you play by yourself, you’ll be able to carry around your partner in crime, and you may be able to switch back and forth between the two to slow puzzles.
If you decide to play with another person, then there are things like the ability to point that should make the game that much more pleasant to play instead of infuriating like some other co-operative puzzle games.
Unravel is a simple game that’s fun to play and I’m sure the sequel is going to be the same.
