Super Smash Ultimate Goes on Tour

Football is an age old American pass time that brings hundreds of thousands of fans together, and college football is the same case. Well now there may be an even larger crowd at your next college football game because Nintendo is taking Super Smash Ultimate on tour.

To promote the game up to its release on December 7th, Nintendo is taking Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to select college football games so that fans can get a chance to play a few rounds. The tour will feature a custom branded Smash trailer with six station at which people can play the game. The games will be shown on large LED screens so that fans can gather around and cheer on players as they beat the tar out of their opponents.

“Many of our biggest fans are now in college and have memories growing up playing one of the games in the Super Smash Bros. series,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We want to bring Super Smash Bros. Ultimate directly to longtime and first-time players, and what better way than to combine two of college students’ favorite pastimes: video games and football.”

The tour has nine announced destinations so far with more to come as the football season progresses.

September 22 - Stanford @ Oregon
October 6 - Alabama @ Arkansas
October 13 - Wisconsin @ Michigan
October 20 - Oklahoma @ Texas Christian University
October 27 - Clemson @ Florida State University
November 3 - South Carolina @ Ole Miss
November 10 - Texas Christian University @ West Virginia
November 17 - Miami @ Virginia Tech
November 24 - Michigan @ Ohio State

Along with just being able to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there will also be impromptu competitions between players. This means that you won’t just get the ability to play the game, but you can also win bragging rights if they are victorious. But if boasting isn’t your thing, there will also be some Smash Bros. branded swag (while supplies last).

With this announcement came a promo image of what the trailer/stage/gaming area will look like.

Admission is free and there are no age restrictions on who can participate.
